Curiosity
Reflecting on my journey as both an educator and a parent, one theme consistently emerges: curiosity. This curiosity spans various areas, from understanding how children learn to exploring how technology, especially in the context of the AI future, reshapes our world. Additionally, it encompasses our quest to discover effective parenting strategies for raising future-ready children. As parents and educators, we must embrace this curiosity to confidently guide the next generation with both compassion and awareness of the future skills for kids.
My Journey
My path has taken many turns. I began at university doing a Bachelor of Science and Information Technology, and upon completion, I started my career in the IT (Tech) industry, immersed in the world of innovation and problem-solving. Later, I found myself teaching violin, watching children’s faces light up as they unlocked the joy of music. Along the way, I pursued a Master’s in Education to deepen my understanding of how children think, grow, and thrive—skills that are increasingly important in the AI future. This curiosity also led me to create a game that helps children learn to read music, demonstrating how play and creativity can make learning magical, which is essential for raising future-ready children. I continue to enjoy teaching kids and implementing effective parenting strategies that align with the demands of parenting in the AI age, watching them thrive to this day.

Parenting has undoubtedly been my most humbling and rewarding role of all. My two beautiful daughters have been my greatest teachers, constantly reminding me of the challenges, surprises, and laughter that come with raising future-ready children. Together, we even launched Modern Successful Parenting, a website and podcast where we spoke candidly about the real issues families face today, including effective parenting strategies for navigating parenting in the AI age. More recently, I’ve released free parenting advice clips on YouTube, focusing on future skills for kids because I believe every parent deserves access to support and encouragement, no matter where they are.

Over the past 2 decades, I’ve had the privilege of sharing insights on parenting in the AI age through lectures across Australia, the United States, and Japan. I've facilitated workshops aimed at helping families navigate the challenges of raising future-ready children. Each conversation reaffirmed something I believe deeply: no matter where we come from, parents share the same hopes and worries. We want our children to be happy, resilient, and equipped with the future skills for kids that will prepare them for an increasingly uncertain AI future.
